Hvad er en CNC-maskine?

A CNC machine, or Computer Numerical Control machine¹, is an advanced machine used to process materials such as metal, wood, plastic and much more. CNC machines are controlled by computer programs that precisely control the movements and functions of the machine's tools.

Basically, a CNC machine works by taking a digital design, typically created in a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) program, and converting it into instructions that the machine can follow. The instructions tell the machine how to move and what operations to perform in order to shape the material into the desired design.

Hvad kan en CNC-maskine?

CNC machines can perform many different operations such as milling, turning, drilling and cutting with a very high precision and repeatability. This makes them indispensable in the manufacturing industry where precise and uniform parts are required.

One of the biggest advantages of CNC machines is that they can run without constant human supervision. Once the program is loaded and the machine is set up, it can work independently, saving time and reducing the risk of human error. In addition, CNC machines can be quickly switched between different tasks, which makes them very flexible and suitable for both mass production and small production runs.

For beginners, using a CNC machine can seem complex, but with basic training in CAD software and an understanding of the machine's operation, one can quickly begin creating precise and complex parts.
